AP Course Testing
AP testing is generally optional, and is held in April/May. By passing an AP test for an AP class a student has taken, that student will gain college credits for that course, and may not have to take the class in college. For more information contact your students counselor, Mrs. Davis or Mrs. Zaffarano.

ASVAB
The ASVAB is a battery of tests produced by the United States Armed Forces to test your knowledge. Argonaut High School uses the ASVAB solely to show your student their weaknesses and strengths as well as a personality quiz to determine where they might want to take their future. A workshop is provided for everyone who takes the test to show you how to use your score for this purpose, and to explain how one might use their score for military purposes. It does not guarantee entry to the Military. This test is free and requires both parent and student signatures. For more information, contact Ms. Putnam in the Career Center.

California High School Exit Exam
California high school students are required to pass the CAHSEE, or California High School Exit Exam, to graduate from high school. The tests consists of two parts, math and english. This test is taken as a sophomore during the first week of October and can be retaken during first week of April. If a student fails either or both parts of the CAHSEE, the student will be required to enroll in a CAHSEE Math or CAHSEE English class the following year, and then required to take the test again in October or April of their Junior or Senior year.. If a student does not pass the CAHSEE by April of their graduating year, that student will not graduate from high school and the student and parent/guardian will be notified by the school to make arrangements for the student.

Finals Schedule
Teachers are required to give a final for each class they teach that accounts toward a students academic credits. Each student is required to take a final at the end of each quarter that shows their ability to pass the class. If a student fails the final, or does not take the final, they may be in danger of failing that class. A finals schedule can be obtained from the front office on Argonaut High School's campus, or from your homeroom teacher.

PSAT
This test is given in early October. This test, a practice for the SAT, is designed for juniors. However, sophomores and freshmen who are interested in attending a university are encouraged to take this test. The PSAT measures the reading, math, and writing skills needed for college. Students who take this test will receive a score report that will tell them how their skills compare to other college-bound students.
